What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy has an established theoretical and scientific base and widespread clinical applications in the restoration and promotion of optimal physical function.

Physical Therapy degrees are offered in Master and Doctorate programs. The physical therapists at Richard Bader Physical Therapy are experts in the assessment and treatment of movement dysfunction. Promoting optimal wellness, fitness, and quality of life as it relates to movement and health are the treatment goals.

Physical therapists conduct an examination to identify potential and existing problems:

  • A detailed patient history, systems review, and established tests and measures are used to determine if the problems to be addressed are within the scope of physical therapy practices.
  • From evaluation they will identify dysfunction and treat with manual skills and therapeutic exercises that will accelerate the recovery process.
  • To enhance this treatment, the therapist will design a specific exercise program that the patient can perform independently at home.
  • Re-assessment is an ongoing process in the patient's course of therapy.
  • Interventions and goals are modified as needed, to advance the patient.

The physical therapists at Richard Bader Physical Therapy are all recognized as leaders in their field. Please click on the following link to find out more about our physical therapists
